Private sector wages are tumbling. Yet, they were happy to strip the budget for Legal services to the absolute minimum the town needs for its day-to-day obligations. This shows their complete lack of commitment toward defending against the mine. It invites any other corporate deep pockets to dictate policy in Milan without a fight. Worse, after losing control of the town’s books and having to pay out tens of thousands to correct the problems, Barrett and Egan voted against funding to keep the CPA firm.
